Abbey Wood

Scaling the platform.

The project

A co-living scheme in the development pipeline in South East London, designed with operations at the table from the start.

Abbey Wood is not operational and no opening date is claimed. It is where the lessons from Harrow are applied at design stage: amenity mix, back-of-house, staffing and operating cost.

Operational principles

  1. Designed for operation

Layouts reviewed for staffing, servicing and maintenance cost.

  2. Amenity that earns its space

Shared spaces planned around resident use and running cost.

  3. Efficient by design

Utilities and building systems considered for long-term operating cost.

  4. Repeatable systems

The Harrow operating model, applied at greater scale.
